Manchester United Draw 3-3 Against Galatasaray: English club Manchester United are in deep trouble in the Champion League following their 3-3 draw against Galatasaray on Matchday 5 for Group A in the competition. The draw saw United give away a two-goal lead in the second half in front of their home crowd at Old Trafford.
Coming off a 3-0 win over Everton less than a week ago, The Red Devils were in good form and high spirits coming into this match. And that form showed up right on in the 11th minute, when Argentine striker Alejandro Gernacho rocketed the ball into the Turkish club’s net, 1-0.

Gernacho himself came into this match following a dream outing against Everton, where he scored a wonder goal with a bicycle kick, similar to the classic goal Wayne Rooney scored against Manchester City in 2011.
It did not take United long to double their lead. From the edge of the box, captain Bruno Fernandes curled a beauty from his right foot into the top left corner in the 18th minute. This naked it a special night for Fernandes, who scored and assisted a goal within the first 20 minutes of the match, 2-0.
Not 10 minutes later, Luke Shaw almost scores another goal for the Manchester-based club. Following a one-two with Rasmus Hojlung, Shaw finds himself unmarked in front of the goal, but could not convert the chance.

In the 29th minute, Galatasaray pulled one back. The away side received a free kick around the 25-yard mark. Chelsea loanee Hakim Ziyech whips a low-footed effort around the United wall. The ball went past keeper Andre Onana and went into the bottom-left corner. Good effort but should have been stopped by the keeper, 2-1.
In the second half, United built back their two-goal lead in the 55th minute. On the counter-attack, Aaron Wan Bissaka runs down the right side of the pitch and whips a cross towards the near post. Scott McTominay was present at the end of it and slid the ball past keeper Fernando Muslera, 3-1.
At this point, most would believe that the match was done for, but not the Turkish side, which started mounting their comeback when, in the 62nd minute, they scored their second goal. Another freekick by Ziyech finds Onana sleeping at the wheel. Having put his hands on the ball, the keeper spills the ball into the net, 3-2.

Despite having a rough night until this point, Andre Onana could have done nothing to stop the next Galatasaray goal. Receiving a pass from Ziyech around the edge of the box, Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglu takes a fiery right-footed shot that curls into the roof of the net in the 71st minute, 3-3.
Manchester United Draw 3-3 Against Galatasaray, with the scores level and a win crucial for both teams, both sides made convincing attacks for the next 20 or so minutes, but none of them could realistically go into the net. The match ended with an exciting 3-3 scoreline.
If Manchester United had won that match, they would have jumped past Galatasaray and Copenhagen to the second spot in Group A of the Champions League. But as it stands, United are in fourth with only 4 points in 5 matches, whereas Galatasaray are in third with 5 points, behind on goal difference to the second-placed Copenhagen. Bayern Munich are on top of the group with 13 points and has confirmed their place in the knockout rounds.
