Longest sixes of IPL 2024: The IPL 2024 season came to a conclusion on Sunday night, and it was quite an anti-climatic one. After a high-scoring league phase this season, the playoffs and final were low- and mid-scoring matches. In the final, SRH didn’t even manage to reach 120, and KKR sealed the final and the trophy with 57 balls to spare.
This IPL broke records for runs and sixes. More than 1200 sixes were hit in the season, the highest number ever recorded in a single IPL tournament. Uncapped Indian opener Abhishek Sharma finished with the highest number of sixes. The young SRH opener walloped 42 maximums this season.
In this article, we will look at the five longest and biggest sixes in IPL 2024.
5 Longest sixes of IPL 2024:
Venkatesh Iyer – 106m vs RCB
In match number 10 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer danced down the track and whacked RCB left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar over wide long-on for a 106-meter six.
Nicholas Pooran – 106m vs RCB
In match number 15 of the season, once again at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, a left-hander hit a 106-meter six against RCB. LSG’s Nicholas Pooran sized up a slower short ball from Reece Topley. The ball didn’t have any pace in it, and it was at the perfect height for Pooran to muscle a powerful pull shot toward deep mid-wicket for a gigantic sixer.
Heinrich Klaasen – 106m vs RCB
Another RCB bowler bore the brunt of another 106-meter six, again at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, when SRH’s Heinrich Klaasen tonked speedster Lockie Ferguson down the ground for a mighty hit. A length ball from Ferguson was blasted over long-on by the SRH wicketkeeper
Dinesh Karthik – 108m vs SRH
After the RCB bowlers take the thumping, we finally have an RCB batter on this list. Dinesh Karthik, who retired from IPL at the end of the season, showed that he still had it in him when he smoked SRH left-arm seamer T Natarajan for a 108-meter six in match number 30 of the season.
Natarajan aimed for a leg-stump yorker but missed his mark by a long distance. Karthik dispatched the ball over deep square leg for a massive maximum.
MS Dhoni – 110m vs RCB
The longest six of the IPL 2024 season came off the bat of MS Dhoni, a 110-meter gigantic hit. And once again, it’s an RCB bowler facing the heat. In match number 68 of the season, Dhoni smashed a leg-stump full toss from pacer Yash Dayal over fine leg for a jaw-dropping six that was measured at 110 meters.
