Lewandowski Reacts After Barca Beating Bayern: Barcelona’s Polish powerhouse Robert Lewandowski faced his former club Bayern Munich again after transferring to the Catalan giants in 2022. The 36-year-old also scored a goal in Barcelona’s 4-1 win in the UCL and reacted afterward to how he felt during the big fixture.
Lewandowski Reacts After Barca Beating Bayern
For Levandowski, it was a ‘Special night’. And this time, it leaned more towards the good side than it was two years ago, when the 2021 Ballon d’Or finalist was all new in Barcelona and his emotions were a bit winded with his previous club Bayern Munich. But now, he has become more of a Barca man.
“It’s a special victory, without a doubt, and I’m not going to hide it. I’ve approached this game a little differently than two years ago because I’ve been at Barcelona longer now,” he said
Barcelona has been in dazzling form this season. The Camp Nou side are currently leading the La Liga table, 3 points ahead of the Galactico Real Madrid. And this has given a certain confidence to the players. And that confidence was reflected in Levandowski’s expectation before the game to win the match 3-1.
“I was convinced that we would play a good game today and win. Before the game, I was expecting a 3-1 victory.”
Lewandowski, who is hitting the latter half of the thirties, said that he feels great physically and doesn’t ‘feel any difference’ from when he was younger. He also talked about the balance of experience and youth in the team.
“Physically, I don’t feel any difference, and that’s the most important thing. When I look at the young players, they give me extra energy, I won’t hide that,” he noted.
“There’s Inigo and I and there are some players in the middle who have experience. We have a lot of youth and we’re trying to take advantage of it. I think we’re starting to understand each other better, to know how to use youth and experience.”
Lewen’goal’ski is the leading goalscorer in La Liga this season with 12 goals from just 10 matches. But for him, the team’s victory is more important.
“I feel good. It doesn’t matter much if I score 2 or 3 goals in a match. The most important thing is that my goals bring victories to the team and that is the most important thing for me.”
