Kohli and Gill Star As India Score 358 In 3rd ODI: Continuing India’s great tour of hosting England, the Men in Blue have scored 356 runs in the third and final ODI of the series on the back of a fine ton by Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli finding form just in time for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
So far in this tour, the Indian Cricket Team won the T20I series 4-1 and has already clinched the ODI series by winning the first two out of three matches. This game, being played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, saw the visitors win their third toss in a row in this series and decide to bowl first this time.

The Three Lions got off to a fantastic start, dismissing captain Rohit Sharma for just one run in the second over, one match after Sharma scored a brilliant 100 in the second ODI.
But then, Virat Kohli came to strike, and the game changed entirely, as he and Shubman Gill batted for almost 18 overs together and built a 116-run partnership. Kohli, who has been struggling greatly with form since the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, scored 52 runs in 55 deliveries before getting dismissed in the 19th over.
Then followed another 100+ run partnership, this time between Gill and Shreyas Iyer. In all this time, Shubman was notching up runs of his own, first reaching his 50 alongside Kohli, and then doubling up and scoring a 100.

This continues the young opener’s excellent form in this India vs England ODI series. In the first game, he scored 87, and then in the second, he scored 60. Now, in the third and final game, he has scored a hundred. By the time Shubman Gill was dismissed, India was 226/3 in the 35th over and in line for a score well over 300.
Shreyas Iyer departed soon after with India being at 259/4. It was now the responsibility of the lower-middle order to score some runs, and they did. KL Rahul scored 40 off 29 before getting out. Hardik Pandya scored 17 and 13 runs respectively. Washington Sundar scored 14 runs, and Harshit Rana scored 13. Despite a sloppy end to the inning that saw India get all out, the team crossed the 350-run mark, scoring 356 runs in their designated 50 overs.
The Indian Cricket Team finding such form at this time is great news, seeing we are just a week away from the Champions Trophy 2025, which will be played in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19 to March 9.
