KKR vs RR Match Highlights And Report-IPL: Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals played out an epic tug-of-war match at the Eden Gardens, where Sunil Narine and Jos Buttler scored centuries.
It was the RR opener who managed to take his side to the joint-highest successful run-chase in IPL history on the last ball of the match, even though at one point it looked like the game was in KKR’s pocket with Buttler struggling with a leg niggle and running out of partners.
While last night it was SRH amassing 287 and RCB replying with 262, tonight it was KKR plundering 223 and RR gunning it down on the very last delivery of the match.

Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. Avesh Khan got Phil Salt out cheaply, but Narine has been the bigger danger this season. Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi took KKR to 56/1 at the end of the powerplay.
The pair shared a partnership of 85 (43) for the second wicket before Raghuvanshi was dismissed by Kuldeep Sen for 30 (18). Narine continued to go gung-ho and raised his half-century in 29 balls, and would get more dangerous as his innings progressed. The left-hander finally reached his maiden IPL century in 49 balls during his takedown of Chahal in a 23-run over.
At the other end, though, the KKR captain Shreyas Iyer (11 off 7) and Andre Russell (13 off 10) had short stays. Along with Narine, Rinku Singh gave KKR a finish. Rinku smashed 20* runs in 9 balls. Narine, who was yorked by Trent Boult, ended with 109 (56) with the help of 13 fours and 6 sixes, and KKR on 223.

In the tall chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who’s been out of form this season, started off brilliantly with a flurry of boundaries, but the left-hander couldn’t continue beyond 19 (9). Jaiswal was followed in the dressing room by Samson, who scored 12 (8).
While Buttler, who’s been nursing a leg injury and hence came in as an Impact Sub, fiddled his way steadily, Riyan Parag monstered his way to 34 (14), walloping four fours and two sixes, but he was dismissed by Harshit Rana.
From there, RR slipped further, losing Dhruv Jurel to Narine, before Varun Chakravarthy got rid of Ashwin and Hetmyer on consecutive deliveries. After 14 overs, RR were 128/6, with Buttler on 42 (33), and the game looked beyond RR’s reach.
Then a switch flicked. With 96 needed off 36, Buttler cracked four fours to Chakravarthy, and 33 runs came off the next two overs off the bat of Buttler and Rovman Powell, who scored 26 (13).
46 runs were needed off 18 balls and Buttler was seeing the ball like a football. 18 runs came in the 18th over, bowled by Starc, and the penultimate over, bowled by Harshit, cost KKR 19 runs as Buttler raced to 96.
With 9 required off the last over, Buttler pulled Chakravarthy to bring up his second IPL century of this season. Even though Chakravarthy bowled three dots, Buttler completed the chase with a couple and a single on the last ball.
Score summary: Kolkata Knight Riders 223/6 in 20 overs (Sunil Narine 109, Avesh Khan 2/35); Rajasthan Royals 224/8 in 20 overs (Jos Buttler 107*, Sunil Narine 2/30). RR defeated KKR by 2 wickets.
