Kevin de Bruyne Mocks Cricket: Manchester City football star Kevin de Bruyne sent a dig at cricket when asked about the sport being the second most popular one in the world.
The event happened during a quiz segment on Man City’s AI Showdown. De Bruyne was paid with his colleague McAtee, and both were asked to choose the top 5 most popular sports in the world. They were given football, basketball, tennis, cricket, and Formula 1 as the options.

When the quiz revealed cricket as the second most popular sport in the world, behind, of course, football, the Belgian midfielder broke out in laughter and sent a playful dig at the sport.
“How can cricket be second on the list? That’s a lie,” De Bruyne said.
His answer created laughter in the room while the midfield maestro continued.
“I don’t know anybody in Europe who watches cricket, let’s be honest,”
The quizzer tried to explain to him the popularity of cricket in Europe, but the player was not buying it
“Who? European people? No.” He then dropped a bomb (but witty) of a reply that stunned everyone.
“Yeah, I watch everything else except cricket.”
De Bruyne and Manchester City will meet Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on April 12 at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester. The player is now the shadow of his great past and is expected to leave he club by the end of the season.
