Kamran Akmal Praises BCCI Professionalism: Former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal has recently praised the professionalism of the BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) and Indian cricket as a whole, claiming that it is the ego of personalties in the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) that is holding the cricket in the country back.
The Pakistan Cricket Team has been in dismal form over the last year. First, they failed to make it to the semi-final of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, then they lost a three-match Test series 3-0 in Australia before losing a T20I series 4-1 at home against New Zealand.
In the 2024 t20 World Cup, the Men in Green lost a group game to the United States and were eliminated from the competition in the first round. And most recently, not only did they lose a Test match against Bangladesh for the first time, but they did so at home. They then doubled that and were whitewashed in the two-match series by the Bangla Tigers.
Naturally, the blame is being thrown around in Pakistan cricket. While some people blame the players, others blame people behind the scenes. Kamran Akmal, who was an all-format wicketkeeper for Pakistan for several years, recently spoke in a video on his YouTube channel about the plight of cricket in his country.

In the video, the 42-year-old suggested the reason behind the results for India and Pakistan in cricket in recent times has been the professionalism of the BCCI and the Indian Cricket Team.
“PCB should learn from BCCI, their professionalism, their team, selector, captain, and coaches. These are the things that make a team number one and dominate the world. If we were so good, then Pakistan cricket wouldn’t be here. It is because of your ego Pakistan cricket is suffering,” he said.”
On the contrary to Pakistan, India has had a successful few months. While they lost in the final of the 2023 World Cup at home, they did reach that stage undefeated. The team also won the 2024 T20 World Cup undefeated. They also thrashed England in a Test series earlier this year.
Speaking on India’s most recent Test victory over Bangladesh, Kamran Akmal claimed that the spin-allrounder duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are vital for the Indian Test team. While Jaddu scored 86 in the first inning of the match, Ashwin gave a Player of the Match performance, scoring a 100 in the first inning and taking a fifer in the last. Akmal said,
“What an all-round performance from Ashwin. He took six wickets in the second innings and scored a century. It was a match-winning partnership with Jaddu. Without these two players, India can’t form a Test-playing XI at home.”
India defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs in the first of two Tests against Bangladesh. On the other hand, Pakistan is gearing up to face England in a three-match Test series at home next month.
