Jey Uso Wins IC Title From Bron Breakker On RAW: WWE Superstar and multi-time Tag Team Champion Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker to win the Intercontinental Championship on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, making this his first single’s title win in the promotion.
“Main Event” Jey Uso has been one of the most popular stars in the wrestling world for some time now. From becoming the first member of The Bloodline in 2020 to thriving in the faction to leaving it and becoming a singles star, Jey is one of the very few wrestlers who, after much success as part of a tag team, broke out and became a singles success.
In the past year, Uso has been a regular part of the main event and title scenes on RAW; from challenging for titles on multiple occasions to facing some of the biggest names in the company, he has been a top star.
Jey is also very popular with the crowds; in fact, he is one of the biggest crowd favorites in the WWE. Not only does he make his entrance walking amidst the crowds, but he also has one of the most popular catchphrases in modern wrestling, that being “Yeet.”
All this is the pretext for one fact. Despite being uber-popular for over a year, Jey had never won a singles title in the company. He challenged for the IC and World Heavyweight Championships on several occasions, only to fall short at the final hurdle.
So when he won a 12-man tournament to become the No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental title to challenge Bron Breakker, many people did not expect Uso to win. This is not because Jey is not a credible champion, but because of how Breakker is being built like the next big thing in the WWE.

Despite that, Jey Uso challenged Bron for the title in the main event of RAW this week. After a solid 20+ minute match, which saw both men cause mayhem at ringside, Jey Uso hit Bron Breakker with a spear, then hit his patented top-rope splash to win the match and clinch the historic title.
This win seems like a reward for growing into and becoming one of the biggest stars on the WWE roster in about a year. After winning several tag titles with his twin brother Jimmy Uso as part of the legendary Usos tag team, Jey has now officially broken out as a massive singles star.
