Jasprit Bumrah Rested For 4th Test Vs England: Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to miss the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series between India and England on the grounds of workload management. His participation in the fifth and final Test of the series is up in the air too.
After winning the 3rd Test by a convincing margin of 434 runs, the hosts have taken a 2-1 lead in the innings. India will now face the Three Lions in JSCA International Stadium, Ranchi, starting February 23.
Bumrah has now been given some time off from the field. While the rest of the team will travel from Rajkot to Ranchi on February 20, the ace-pacer will travel to Ahmedabad for some rest.
The 30-year-old has been the leading wicket-taker of the series. He has scalped 17 English wickets at an amazing average of 13.64. Despite his past injuries, he has bowled over 80 overs across the three Test matches in this series. He was even named the Player of the Match in the 2nd Test for taking 9 wickets, which included a 6-fer in the 1st innings.

Jasprit Bumrah Rested For 4th Test Vs England: Mukesh Kumar Will Join
Mohammed Siraj was rested for the 2nd Test match in the series played in Vishakhapatnam. He joined the team in Rajkot and will be part of the squad for the rest of the matches.
On the other hand, Mukesh Kumar was released from the team for the 3rd match to play Ranji Trophy cricket. He will rejoin the squad for the fourth match in Ranchi.
While Jasprit will not be part of the squad for the 4th Test, his status for the 5th Test in Dharamshala is currently unknown and might depend on the result of the upcoming Test.
With his injury-prone past and his importance to the national side, the rest provided to him might be the best thing for him at the moment. But if the results don’t go India’s way in the 4th Test, his return to the side might be fast-tracked and he might be in the playing 11 for the 5th and final match against England.
