Jasprit Bumrah bowled Mushfiqur Rahim: Despite loads of experience, Mushfiqur Rahim suffered a shocking brain-fade in Bangladesh’s first innings of the Kanpur Test as he shouldered arms to an in-nipper from Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah and got bowled, then left a look of stun while Bumrah celebrated calmly as if it has become just so routine for him to castle batters these days.
Cricket finally resumed in the IND vs BAN 2nd Test in Kanpur on Monday after the previous two days were completely washed out. Bangladesh resumed their innings at 107/3, a score they had managed in the 35 overs of play that was possible on day 1.
Bumrah and Akash Deep bowled probing lines and lengths to Mominul Haque and Rahim, beating both inside and outside edges of the two batsmen’s bats multiple times. Finally, Bumrah had the reward early this morning after being denied a wickcet by some bad luck on day 1.
He first got Rahim’s inside edge, but the ball missed the stumps and went for a boundary. On the next ball, it was a similar delivery as it came back in after pitching. However, for some reason, Rahim decided not to attempt any stroke—not even a defensive shot—on this ball.
It pitched outside the off-stump and kept coming in. Rahim had already shouldered his arms, and the next thing he knew was that the ball had clattered into the top of the stumps and the crowd erupted. Rahim stood there for a few seconds, realizing what a grave mistake he had done, before walking off.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh were bundled out for 233 in the second session. Bumrah took three wickets. Siraj, Ashwin, and Akash Deep took two wickets each, while Jadeja picked up one wicket.
India will look to score runs quickly and bat Bangladesh out of the game and give their bowlers enough time to bowl the visitors out again.
