Jadeja Slams Virat Kohli for Pitch Excuse: Virat Kohli had a brilliant knock in RCB’s last match against Sanju Samson’s RR. But the match again slipped away from the Bengaluru franchise as they could only set up 183 runs batting first. In return, Jos Buttler’s 100* and Samson’s 69 gave RR their fourth consecutive victory. With the win, RR sits at the top with 8 points.
After the match, RCB superstar Virat Kohli complained about the pitch being tricky. Their skipper, Faf du Plessis, also commented that the pitch was tricky at the start, but it got better by the time RR came to bat.
Jadeja Slams Virat Kohli for Pitch Excuse
Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja thinks otherwise. Talking to the Jio Cinema, Jadeja said that looking at the masterful innings of Virat Kohli, it’s difficult to say that the pitch was faulty.
“Kohli began brilliantly, stroking a couple of boundaries in the opening overs, immediately signaling we were witnessing something extraordinary that night. The only surprise was his comment about the pitch, where he said the ball wasn’t coming on the bat. Looking at his innings, I believe there were no flaws in the surface.” Jadeja said.
“When you speak about his shots, he hit the ball in every corner of the field. His words led us to think there might be issues with the pitch, but his masterful play showed that there were no demons in the surface,” said Jadeja.
Shane Watson, who was also present on the Jio Cinema experts panel, said that the ongoing IPL season could be a breakthrough year for Sanju Samson.
Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson got some fine words from former Australian cricketer Shane Watson. Watson, who is on the pundit panel at Jio Cinema, said that this year could be Sanju’s.
“From the first ball, he demonstrated his usual composed style and clear intent to score runs. His 130 strike rate in the first 10 balls showed he was not simply trying for singles, but waiting to capitalize on loose deliveries. True to form, he dispatched the first loose ball he received. With his prodigious batting skill, he played each ball on its merits. Given his talent, I predict he will enjoy a productive and successful IPL campaign with the bat this year.” Watson opined.
