Jaap Stam Asks Ten Hag to Leave Manchester United: Manchester United legend Jaap Stam opined that their manager Eric Ten Hag should leave the club despite getting a new contract to continue at Old Trafford.
Background
It’s Ten Hag’s third year with the Red Devils. Though the Dutchman clinched the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the first two seasons, United’s English Premier League performance was embarrassing. They could only finish at eight on the table behind Newcastle. Despite being poor on the pitch, Ten Hag has always claimed that his team plays good football.

Stam opines that Ten Hag ‘needs to go’ from Old Trafford despite renewing his contract with the club.
“For Ten Hag, it’s his third season at United – I think he needs to go. I think it’s good he signed a new contract because he still needs that little bit of help.
Stam also slammed Ten Hag for not admitting the facts when his team plays bad football.
“He needs to look at himself and how last season panned out, I don’t always agree with him in terms of him saying they played good football.
“I understand that as a manager you need to be positive about your players and help them out by taking some of the pressure away. That said, it’s also good to just be honest as a manager and say that your team played rubbish football.
“He needs to step up this season, there have been a lot of changes made at the club with the staff so I’m curious how it’s going to work out for them.”
United have backed Ten Hag in the transfer market by giving him the players he asked for, including Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro, and Noussair Mazraoui. The Red Devils recently lost to Manchester City in the FA Community Shield. With that being said, Manchester United is hoping to finish better this time on the Premier League table.
