The latest name coming out of the Borussia Dortmunf’s factory of world-class talent, Bellingham was the lifeline of the yellow-and-black club ever since Erling Haaland left for Manchester City. Bellingham, who is still just 20 years old and is playing in his fourth season as a professional, was signed for a massive sum of 103 million Euros back in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid, who have been poaching Kylian Mbappe for a few seasons now, had to settle with the Englishman this season. But they couldn’t have made a better signing.
In the 10 matches, he has played for Real Madrid this season across competitions, Jude Bellingham has scored 10 and assisted 3 goals this season. Not only that, but he has shown rapid pace, exquisite footwork, and immaculate movement away from the ball too. In eight out of the ten matches he has played this season, Bellingham has been named the Player of the Match.
It is not only his performances on the pitch, but his conduct off it that has helped him become a star in the Spanish capital. A club with prestige and history like Real Madrid looks for players who – represent the club in the media in a proper way, and blend in with the rest of the star-studded squad. Suffice it to say, the English wonder-kid has been able to do both. While his politeness and confidence have won over the Spanish media, his professionalism has allowed him to develop good relationships with his teammates.
While it was believed by most back in his days at Dortmund that Jude would one day prosper into a superstar at a massive club, no one knew how quickly that would end up happening. At the age of 20, Kylian Mbappe was one season deep into his stint at PSG. While he had become the second-most expensive signing at that point and had impressed in his first season at Paris, he had not exploded onto the scene of World football yet. He started it that season by winning the World Cup with France and becoming the Golden Boy. Next, he scored 37 and assisted 7 goals in the 27 matches he played for PSG in the following season.
It does seem that Bellingham is on a similar trajectory (minus the World Cup). But it must also be noted that countless start has had fantastic seasons or part of a season, and then plummeted down to being “just good enough.”
While it seems that Jude Bellingham has the drive and the professionalism to do great things in the iconic white jersey of Real Madrid, it is only time that will decide whether he will become a Ballon d’Or contender in the future. He does have one of the strongest squads in the world around him to make that possible.
