IPL 2024 LSG 3 Players To Watch Out: Lucknow Super Giants has low-key been one of the more successful teams since their inception in 2022. Usually overshadowed by the other team that was introduced in 2022, the Gujart Giants, LSG has made it to the playoffs for all the two years of their existence.
Led by KL Rahul, the Lucknow-based franchise saw their captain be out of form for much of 2023. Despite that, they finished third in the table. With him having found some form this season, the Super Giants will once again look to make it to the playoffs. Maybe go one step further and make it to the final.
But the success of this team will depend on their excellent core of foreign players, as these are the players with the most experience in this squad.
Here are 3 players from the Lucknow Super Giants that fans should keep their eye on in IPL 2024
IPL 2024 LSG 3 Players To Watch Out
1) Nicholas Pooran
With KL Rahul being out of form last season in the IPL, it was upon the rest of the LSG batting order to drag the side to decent scores. The player who truly stepped up to the task was Nicholas Pooran.
The explosive West Indies wicketkeeper-batter might have had a below-30 average, but his strike rate in 2023 was 172.95, the highest for him in an IPL season. His run total of 358 was also his highest across a season of the IPL. That form translated into performances for the national side, where he scored 384 runs in 13 T20I with a +160 strike rate.
Pooran has been in some sublime form recently, especially in the recently concluded ILT20 2024, where he scored 354 runs in 10 matches with an average of 50 and strike rate of 170 for league champions MI Emirates. Not only that, but he was also the captain of the side.

2) Marcus Stoinis
In a side full of all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis might be the most essential in the side. The anchor of the franchise in terms of performances, The Aussie scored 408 runs and took 5 wickets in IPL 2023, playing a crucial role in LSG’s run to the playoffs.
While he did not have the best 2023 as an individual on the international scale, he did become a World Champion with Australia.
In IPL 2024, Marcus Stoinis will be a massive part of the side’s middle order and will also be the sixth bowler for the Super Giants. With him being a three-discipline player (as an excellent fielder), Marcus Stoinis is definitely one to watch out for in the upcoming season.

3) Mark Wood
Mark Wood played only four matches in IPL 2023. This was only his third season as a member of a squad in the IPL and only second where he played any matches. After playing four matches, he returned to England for the birth of his child.
But the four matches that he played belonged to him. In that brief span, he took 11 wickets with an average of 16.27 and a strike rate of 10.91. He took a fifer in that period and was the best bowler in the league for those four matches.
Considered one of the most skilled pacers in the world, Mark Wook is an excellent mixture of pure pace and the ability to move the ball around. In his T20I career, the Englishman has taken 45 wickets in just 28 matches.
He has also looked decent in his limited exposure playing in India, where he is by far the better pacer in his side over James Anderson in the ongoing Test series against India.
If Mark Wood plays an entire season of the IPL, not only will be be a contender for the Purple Cap, but he has the ability to single-handily drag his side into the playoffs.
