IPL 2024 GT 3 Players To Watch Out: Gujarat Titans is one of two of the newest franchises in IPL. Introduced in 2022 alongside the Lucknow Super Giants, GT is definitely the more successful side of the two. In fact, no team has had a better two years in the IPL than the Titans.
In their inaugural year as a team, the Gujarat Giants won it all, lifting the title in 2022 by defeating the Rajasthan Royals in the final. They then made it to the final for a second year in a row, only to lose to the Chennai Super Kings on the final ball of the match.
With their successful captain Hardik Pandya moving to Mumbai Indians, the Ahmedabad-based franchise will be starting its new era under captain Shubman Gill. The team will be looking to repeat the success of the last two years, seeing how the squad is unchanged for the most part.
Here are 3 players from the Gujarat Giants that fans should keep their eye on in IPL 2024 –
IPL 2024 GT 3 Players To Watch Out
1) Shubman Gill
The star batter of the franchise has now been handed the responsibility of ensuring Gujarat Titans’ continued success as their captain. The highest-scoring batter in franchise history, Shubman Gill not only emerged as one of the best batters in India during his time at the Titans, but he also became the fastest-rising star in world cricket.
Gill’s 2023 could not have started any better. First, he scored five centuries across all formats in just the first three months in international cricket. He then went on to notch up the second-highest score in an IPL season ever, scoring four centuries in the process. But his form went downhill quickly around the time of the World Cup to the point that his place in the Test side has been questioned.
Having scored a ton in the recent 2nd Test against England, it seems like the 24-year-old is back in form. Shubman Gill will be going into IPL 2024 not only as his side’s best batter, but he will also be shouldering the responsibility of captaining an IPL franchise at such a young age.

2) David Miller
David Miller revitalised his IPL career when he joined up with the Gujarat Giants in 2022. After an explosive 2014 IPL with the Punjab Kings 10 years ago now, Miller’s runs and run rate in the league started falling to the point he could barely cross the 200 run and 130 strike rate mark throughout whole seasons.
Then he moved to the Titans, where he not only became a middle-order anchor but also a slogger in the death overs. It was his explosive hitting that pulled GT out of several tough spots across the last two years. For South Africa too, he has had a crazy 150+ strike rate for the last three years, for most of which his average has been above 40.
With no Hardik Pandya in the middle order, David Miller will have to step up and be a leader in the middle order that the Gujarat Titans need.

3) Mohit Sharma
Mohit Sharma seemingly came out of nowhere in IPL 2023. From being part of the India squad for the 2015 World Cup to becoming a net bowler for the Titans, it seemed like the 25-year-old’s career at the biggest stage was done for. But then came IPL 2023, where he caught fire.
While his teammate Mohammed Shami did win the Purple Cap with 28 wickets, Sharma was just behind on 27 having played three fewer matches.
While yes, he gave away 10 runs in the last two balls of the final thus losing the match for his side, people tend to forget that he was on fire throughout the match, picking three crucial wickets.
Gujarat Titans have a stacked Indian pace unit, with Mohammed Shami and newly bought Umesh Yadav in the mix. But even with these big names on the side, Mohit Sharma will be the one to watch out for, only to see whether he can keep his form from last season.
