The BCCI has selected a tentative date of December 19 for the IPL 2024 auction. It has been learned that the auction will be held in Dubai. This will be the first time in history that an IPL auction will take place outside India.

The IPL 2024 auction will be a mini-auction.
According to the IPL 2024 auction date and venue, the last mega-auction was conducted before the IPL 2022. The next mega-auction is reportedly going to be held ahead of IPL 2025.
Details about retention and release players:
The BCCI has informed the IPL franchises that the deadline to submit their lists of retained and released players is November 15. Only after all 10 teams have locked their lists of released players will the auction pool be formed.

What is the purse for franchises in the IPL 2024 auction?
For the IPL 2024 auction, the BCCI has increased the purse for each franchise to INR 100 crore USD 12.02 million)! It was INR 95 crore at last year’s auction.
It is also important to remember that all the 10 teams have some amount remaining in their purses from the last auction.

IPL 2024 auction schedule: When will the trading window open?
The BCCI has opened the trading window for the franchises to trade players with players, or simply for cash. Franchises can make trades until November 15, which is the last date to submit the list of the retained and released cricketers.
