Their bowler Dilshan Madushanka is the latest to join the injured list, after Chameera and Hasaranga. Apart from him, right-arm fast bowler Lahiru Kumara’s availability is also doubtful.

Their spin talent, Wanindu Hasaranga, will be able to join the squad for the Asia Cup, but as the recovery continues, Team Sri Lanka is optimistic about his availability for the ICC World Cup 2023, which is going to happen in India. As the intensity of the injury is higher, they are expecting to get the service of Hasranga at least after the World Cup Group Stage matches.

When Will Madushanka and Chameera Return?
Injury woes in Sri Lanka Camp: Madushanka is expected to return for the World Cup. SLC’s chairman of the medical committee, Pro. Arjuna de Silva has confirmed the same. He tore his oblique muscle in the practice match on Friday. But again, the injury is not as serious as Hasranga’s.
On the other hand, Chameera is out with a pectoral injury and would potentially miss the initial matches of the World Cup. But Kumara’s injury is not as serious as the other two and he would be available for the World Cup. But again, to avoid risks, he would sit outside for the upcoming Asia Cup.

It is certainly concerning for Sri Lanka that their top bowlers are out of the tournament.
