Indian National Anthem: In a bizarre and shocking incident, the sound or music team at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore made a massive mistake when they played the Indian national anthem instead of Australia’s national anthem for a couple of seconds ahead of the Australia vs England match in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
England took on Australia as both sides kicked off their Champions Trophy tournament on Saturday in Lahore. Australia’s stand-in captain, Steve Smith, who is leading in place of the injured Pat Cummins, won the toss and chose to bowl first on a flat pitch in Lahore, while also citing dew in the evening as a reason for his choice.
Australia are without their premier pace trio of Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood and also will have to do without the services of Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis. Recently, they lost 2-0 in Sri Lanka in the ODI series.
England, too, has come into this tournament on the back of a horrific series against India, in which they were whitewashed 3-0.
AUS vs ENG: Indian National Anthem Gets Mistakenly Played In Lahore, Watch the Video
As is the tradition in ICC tournaments, both teams geared up their national anthems ahead of the match. First, it was England’s national anthem that was played out, and then before the Australian national anthem was played, the ground sound team made a huge error and blared out the Indian national anthem.
They immediately halted the music after the words “Bharat Bhagya Vidhata.”. Everyone in the ground heard it, and it was also captured live on the broadcast.
