India vs Australia 1st Test Day 2 Report:
Jasprit Bumrah and Harshit Rana removed Alex Carey and Nathan Lyon, respectively, early on, but the bowlers were kept at bay by Starc and Hazlewood. Starc dealt in singles mostly and gave Hazlewood about two balls every over to survive, which the Aussie No. 11 did. Starc was finally dismissed for 26 (112) by Rana and was the top scorer in Australia’s first innings.
Australia were bowled out for 104 runs. India’s lead of 46 runs is the fifth highest in Test cricket by a team scoring 150 or fewer runs while batting first.
However, India vs Australia 1st Test Day 2 Report, After the Indian bowlers did their job with great precision, it was time for the batsmen to step up and avoid an encore of the first innings. Rahul was as resolute this time as he was in the first innings, where he got out in a debatable dismissal.
Jaiswal was highly impressive this time, as he had clearly learned from his first innings caught-behind dismissal and barely played a loose shot outside the off-stump today; he was steadfast in leaving length deliveries outside the off-stump and was compact while defending.
Rahul, as in the first innings, shielded his bat behind his pad while dealing with balls outside off and remained solid throughout. While Rahul played anchor, Jaiswal ensured to cash in on the bad balls, swatting, upper-cutting, and also slashing whenever a decent amount of width was provided away from the off-stump.
The young left-hander, who is on his maiden Test tour of Australia, even initiated a sledge to Starc, telling the lanky Australian speedster that was “too slow,” which seems to be in response to Starc’s sledge to Harshit earlier in the day.
In order to India vs Australia 1st Test Day 2 Report, But the most gorgeous shot of the day came from Rahul’s bat, a beautiful on-drive off a full ball from Pat Cummins.
Overall, Jaiswal scored 90* off 193 balls with seven fours and two sixes, which included a smash to Nathan Lyon down the ground, and Rahul scored 62* off 153 balls, creaming four sumptuous boundaries.
