India Left Reeling On Day Three Vs Australia: The Australian Cricket Team has cut the legs from under the Indian batting order, destroying the top order to rattle the visitors and near another win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Today was Day Three of the third of five Australia vs. India Test matches. The match was being played at The Gabba in Brisbane. India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rain almost entirely washed away on Day One. Only 13 overs were bowled, and 28 runs were made with no loss.
On Day Two, the Indian Cricket Team got off to a solid start as Jasprit Bumrah dismissed both the openers for cheap. By the time Nitish Kumar Reddy dismissed Marnus Labuschagne, the Aussies were reeling at 75/3, but then came the partnership that took the game away from the Men in Blue.
Travis Head and Steve Smith batted together for almost two sessions. While Smith, looking to return to form after a poor year in Test cricket, took it slow. On the other hand, Head, who scored a quickfire 140 in the previous match, came into this game like it was an ODI.
In the end, Smith scored his first ton of the year, and Travis Head scored a 150 before getting out. At the end of Day Two, the Kangaroos were 405/7 with Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc on strike.

Day Three began with Carey going ham while the tail collapsed around him. Alex ended up scoring 70 runs before getting out as the entire team was dismissed for 445.
It all began to crumble for India right at the start of the inning. After hitting a four on the first ball of the inning, Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by Mitchell Starc in this series again on just the second ball, handing an easy catch to Mitchell Marsh at short mid-wicket.
Then, in just his second over, Starc found the edge of Shubman Gill’s bat as Marsh took a brilliant catch at the third slip. And then, in the eighth over, Virat Kohli fell victim to Josh Hazelwood. It wouldn’t take three guesses as to how Kohli got out. He played the ball in the line of 5th/6th stump and was caught behind.
The third man in the pace trio, captain Pat Cummins, then too picked his first wicket soon after off a peach of a delivery to Rishabh Pant, who edged the ball and was caught behind.
For all this time, KL Rahul was standing at the other end and saw his team collapse, making a majority of their runs. And as soon as he started looking good after a couple of gorgeous cover drives, the rain interrupted play.
India did get to play a couple more overs towards the end of the day, with Rahul and captain Rohit Sharma preserving their wickets as the Indian Cricket Team ended the day dismally at 51/4, trailing the Aussies by 394 runs with two days to go.
Not losing this, or any other match in this series is very crucial for India if they are to qualify for the World Test Championship final in June 2025 without outside factors’ influence. As for the remainder of the matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the fourth and fifth matches will be played in Melbourne and Sydney, respectively.
