India Bowls Out England For 248 1st ODI: The Indian Cricket Team has bowled England out for 248 in the first of three India vs England ODI matches as the Men in Blue look favourites to win this match on a decent batting surface.
The match is being played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur and saw the English win the toss and decide to bat first. And right from the beginning, this looked like at least a 300+ score pitch.

Openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett hit the ground running right from the first over. The two men took on the Indian bowling and looked to come out on top. Batting together for about nine overs, the two men notched up a solid 75-run opening partnership. And when it came time for Salt’s dismissal, he was not bested by a bowler but was run out after a solid fielding effort by Shreyas Iyer.
A few balls later, Salt’s opening partner Duckett followed him to the pavilion. While the wicket will be attributed to bowler Harshit Rana, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s incredible catch while running back that brought us this wicket.
With the England collapse having already started, Harry Brook was dismissed in the same over for a duck, this time a great catch down the leg side by wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Joe Root then tried forming a long partnership with captain Jos Buttler as the two batted for a few overs together, but then Ravindra Jadeja trapped the English great in front of the stumps, and even the DRS couldn’t save Root.

But then came the partnership that made sure that the Three Lions would not falter under 200 runs as Buttler batted together with Jacob Bethell for about 15 overs. In this time, the skipper even scored a solid half-century but went back to the pavilion soon after, being caught at fine leg off of Axar Patel’s ball.
Then, Liam Livingstone continued his poor run of form, scoring only five runs before getting caught behind and becoming Rana’s third wicket of the day.
The wickets kept falling in a string from this point, as in the same over that England crossed the 200-run mark, the seventh wicket fell in the form of Brydon Carse, who was bowled by Mohammed Shami.
Towards the end of the innings, a lot of things happened in the last eight overs. First, Bethell reached his 50 and was then dismissed by Jadeja in the very next over. Then Jofra Archer came in to bat and looked to slog a few more runs onto the English total. But soon, the entire tail fell as well as the England Cricket Team was dismissed for 248 on a fine batting surface.
The Indian Cricket Team now looks favourite to win the first match of this series. Immediately following this series, the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy will commence.
