IND vs BAN Warm-up Match Highlights And Report
India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. India will play their first three Group A matches here, and now they know what to expect from the conditions: swing and seam movement early on with long boundaries to contend with. It is not going to be a high-scoring venue.
Shoriful Islam swung a ball in and got Sanju Samson, who opened in this warm-up game, lbw in the second over. Rishabh Pant joined Rohit in the middle. The duo took a couple of overs to get their eyes in before they started collecting boundaries.
Pant went after Shakib Al Hasan in the sixth over to smoke the left-arm spinner for three sixes. Rohit hit a six to Shoriful but was dismissed by Mahmudullah for 23 (19).
Pant cracked a couple of fours to Sarkar and hit Mahmudullah for a maximum. He reached his half-century with a boundary in the 12th over, off 32 balls, and then left the field. Pant retired himself out to give other batters a chance. Suryakumar Yadav got going straightaway with a flurry of fours. SKY hit four fours in his knock of 31 (18); he was dismissed by Tanvir Islam.
Hardik, who averaged only 18 in the IPL 2024, showed positive signs of getting in form as he smoked two fours and four gigantic sixes, which included a hat-trick of sixes to Tanvir in the 17th over. Pandya’s assault of 40* (23) took India to 182.

In reply, Bangladesh got off to a terrible start as they lost three wickets for only 10 runs. Arshdeep Singh swung the new ball to take the outside edge of Sarkar and then hit the top of the off-stump of Liton Das. At the other end, Siraj bounced out Shanto.
After the powerplay, in which they managed only 27 runs, Bangladesh lost Towhid Hridoy to Axar before Pandya dismissed Tanzid Hasan, who mistimed his loft to mid-off.
Bangladeshi veterans Shakib and Mahmudullah saved some face for their side with their partnership of 75 runs. It was always going to go in vain, though. Bumrah and Dube combined to pick up the next three wickets, and Bangladesh barely managed to cross 120.
Score summary: India 182/5 in 20 overs (Rishabh Pant 53, Mahedi Hasan 1/22); Bangladesh 122/9 in 20 overs (Mahmudullah 40, Arshdeep Singh 2/12). India defeated Bangladesh by 60 runs.
