IND vs AFG 3rd T20I Report: India captain Rohit Sharma became the first batsman in men’s T20Is to raise 5 centuries as India white-washed Afghanistan 3-0 in the series with a win at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
In what was a dead rubber, the two teams produced one of the most thrilling contests as the game went into double Super Over! Eventually, Afghanistan ran out of a fight in the second Super Over.
India vs Afghanistan As it happened:
Rohit Sharma elected to bat first after winning the toss. But Afghanistan pacers made the best use of the pitch that initially behaved as a two-paced surface. With the use of extra bounce and little seam movement, Afghanistan had India in trouble at 22/4.
From thereon, though, as the pitch slowly settled down and got better for batting, Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh’s partnership flourished. Rohit raised his fifty in 41 balls and then exploded spectacularly. Rinku, too, who was 36 (29) at one stage, joined hands. Rohit brought up his century in 64 balls and Rinku his half-century in 36 balls. The duo then took 36 runs off the last over, which included a no-ball, as India posted 212.

In the second Super Over, India batted first, and Rohit cracked a six and a four. India managed 11 runs. Afghanistan, this time, couldn’t make another shock as Nabi and Gurbaz got out to Ravi Bishnoi, both holing to Rinku Singh at long-off, in the first three balls.
