IND vs AFG 2nd T20I 3 Players To Watch Out For
India vs Afghanistan 2nd T20I Player To Watch Out:
1) Shivam Dube
Shivam Dube has surprisingly been one of the linchpins for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) recent IPL success. The 29-year-old was out of contention for the national team by the time CSK bought him in the 2022 IPL auction. In 2023, he played a major role in the side’s success, scoring 411 runs at an average of 37.36 and a strike rate of almost 160.
Most recently, he was a part of the Indian team that went to the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. But this tour will be seen as a proper return for the Mumbai batter, as he will be part of the same team as the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
With the 2024 T20 World Cup being only six months away, fringe players like Shivam Dube will rely on opportunities like this series to cement his place in the team for the World Cup.
2) Hazratullah Zazai
Hazratullah Zazai has been a regular opener for the Afghanistan national cricket team in the T20 format. While his average might be just over 38 and his strike rate just crossing 130, he can be one of the most explosive batters in world cricket on a flat track.
The pitches of Indore’s Holkar Stadium are known to produce excellent batting tracks, and Zazai can showcase his solid bat swing here.
In fact, Hazratullah Zazai has the second-highest score in T20I history, when he scored a whopping 162 in just 62 balls against Ireland in Dehradun in 2019.
While not quite reaching that level of brutality in this series, Hazratullah will look to improve his stock in world cricket on flat pitches that this whole series will be played on.
3) Washington Sundar
One of the most underrated allrounders in world cricket, Washington Sundar is a solid no.5 bowler in any side along with being a genuine no.7 batter. While he has not played much international cricket in the last year, he has shown his worth in T20Is
In the eight matches he has played, he has taken 5 wickets with an ebony of 6.3. While batting, in the three innings he has played in T20Is in 2023, he has scored 60 runs while coming in the last few overs, scoring with an average of 30 and a strike rate of almost 160.
Washington Sundartoo will be looking to cement his place in the national team ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year.
