Abu Dhabi Knight Riders had a rotten inaugural season of the ILT20. The franchise, partly owned by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, lost eight and won only one match last season and finished last in the league. The Knight Riders will at least be looking to make it to the playoffs this season.

Desert Vipers, on the other hand, had a great season. They finished second in the league and became the first team to qualify for the finals, only to lose that final to the Gulf Giants. The Vipers will be looking to one-up their result from the last tournament and win it all.
