Ilja Dragunov Discussed Loss Against Jey Uso: WWE Superstar Ilja Dragunov has broken his silence for the first time since his first loss on the main roster, against Jey Uso in the King of the Ring quarterfinal on the May 13 episode of Monday Night RAW.
In order to Ilja Dragunov Discussed Loss Against Jey Uso, After defeating Richochet in a certified banger in the first round of the tournament last week in only his second main roster match, Dragunov made it to the quarters, where he would face ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso.
In what was a brilliant showcase of the Mad Dragon’s skills for the main roster audience, Ilja and Jey wrestled for 13 minutes in the main event of RAW. After a hard-fought contest, it was the former Tag Team Champions who picked up the win and advanced to the semifinals of the tournament next week.

Following his first loss on the WWE main roster, Ilja Dragunov opened up about his fine showing against Jey Uso. The former NXT Champion said that he was frustrated after the loss but claimed that he would come back stronger.
“I mean, what should I say? It’s so frustrating, it is. But where is actually the shame to lose to the man the ‘Main Event’, right? All I know right now, I’m tired, I’m in pain, but the beauty of it is that in already very dangerous in this ring. But when I’m in pain, I’m an entire monster,”
said Dragunov in a Digital Exclusive following RAW.

Now that Jey Uso has won the quarterfinal against Dragunov, he will face ‘The Rung General’ Gunther, who defeated Kofi Kingston in the quarters, in the semifinal of the 2024 King of the Ring tournament on next week’s RAW. The winner of that match will punch their ticket to the King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event on May 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
When asked to make predictions about the Uso vs. Gunther semifinal, Ilja had this to say:
“Predictions? I mean, they’re both like the absolute bar. The only prediction I can make is for myself, and this prediction is that no one is safe anymore. To quote Shawn Michaels, ‘I’m what the kids call a real problem.”
On this week’s episode of SmackDown, Randy Orton will take on Carmelo Hayes, while LA Knight will face Tama Tonga in the quarterfinals of the KOTR.
