After having a successful season in Mumbai, Hardik joined his home state, Gujarat, when the Gujarat Titans were formed in 2021 for 15.2 crore. That move again added silver linings to his name as he took the Titans to the league final and clinched their first IPL trophy in their first-ever IPL. It didn’t end there. He again took GT to the 2023 IPL final, a dominant run running through every single team that came ahead of them, to bend the knee in the ultimate game to M.S. Dhoni’s Yellow Army, the Chennai Super Kings.

Hardik Pandya was phenomenal at the Titans, not just as a captain but also as a player. He amassed 833 runs in 30 innings, with an average of 41.65 and a strike rate of 133.49. He had his contributions with the ball as well, clinching 11 wickets at an economy of 8.1.

Adding Hardik to their squad might have cost Mumbai a bigger purse. But they nullified the expense by trading off a kangaroo to Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RCB bought Cameroon Green for 17.5 crore, which again helped them regain Pandya.
