Hardik Pandya Condemns Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: At the toss of the SRH vs MI match on Wednesday evening in Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya called out the “cowardly” attacks by the terrorists recently in Pahalgam in Kashmir.
On Tuesday, the entire country and its people around the world were shaken when news, videos, and photos spread on social media about a terror attack in the hill station of Pahalgam in which over two dozen Indians were killed and many others injured.
Following this, many celebrities, including cricketers Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya, took to their social media handles to express mourning for the lost lives.
“Devastated” Hardik Pandya Condemns Pahalgam Terrorist Attack
Pandya mentioned the same at the SRH vs MI toss as well. He slammed the “cowardly” terrorist attacks, adding that the entire MI contingent sends their condolences to the families of the deceased.
Hardik Pandya said, “I would like to firstly pass my condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack. We, as a team and a franchise, condemn any such attacks.
“We strongly condemn such cowardly attacks on our people. We as a team will stand behind the nation in the tough times.”
Earlier, Pandya had posted an Instagram story where he mentioned he was “devastated” by the news of the terrorist attack in Kashmir.
“Devastated by the news from Pahalgam. My thoughts are with those affected and their families,” Pandya posted.
India and RCB star Virat Kohli posted an Instagram story, wherein he hoped that justice would be delivered soon. “Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act,” said Kohli in his Instagram story.
The BCCI has made some directives for this game in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack. The board has instructed that the players of both teams will be wearing black armbands in the SRH vs MI match as a mark of respect for the victims of the Kashmir terror attack. Further, there will be no cheerleaders or fireworks at the ground today.
Meanwhile, talking about the MI vs SRH game, Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first in Hyderabad. MI made one change to their line-up: Ashwani Kumar makes way for Vignesh Puthur. MI have won their last three matches and have momentum on their side as they look to push themselves into the top four.
On the other hand, SRH have managed only two wins in seven games, and they are fighting for survival right now in the playoffs race.
