Glenn Phillips one-handed catch of Virat Kohli: Glenn Phillips pulled off another unbelievable catch during the IND vs NZ match at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday in Dubai to send back Virat Kohli, who was fresh from a match-winning century against Pakistan and was looking to bat positively against New Zealand.
India and New Zealand both have qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions Trophy. The result today will determine their opponents for the semis.
The Kiwi captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and elected to bowl first in Dubai, which meant India would get to set a target for the first time in this competition, having successfully chased down targets against Bangladesh and Pakistan.

India got off to a shaky start, losing both openers, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, for 22 runs inside six overs.
The onus was now on Kohli and Iyer to forge a hefty third-wicket stand as they did against Pakistan. Kohli cracked a couple of fours and was attacking in his approach. However, on another of his boundary attempts—a cracking airborne cut stroke off a good-length delivery from Matt Henry—Phillips made an interception and produced another of his magical one-handed catches.
Kohli had slashed the ball hard, and on most occasions, it would race to the boundary. But not this time, as Glenn Phillips intervened to pluck it out of the air with his right hand while giving a fully stretched dive.

This was Kohli’s 300th ODI match. He became only the 7th Indian player to feature in 300 ODIs, having made his debut back in 2008. But he managed only 11 runs.
Meanwhile, Iyer and Axar Patel are putting a strong rearguard against the relentless Kiwi bowling attack. At the time of writing, India are 88/3 after 22 overs.
