Full list of Winners At the CEAT Cricket Awards: Tyre manufacturing company CEAT hosted its annual CEAT Cricket Awards for 2023-24 on Wednesday, August 21, in Mumbai. This was the 26th edition of the CEAT Cricket Rating (CCR) Awards, which celebrated and honored the remarkable performances and achievements of Indian men’s and women’s players, along with the administrators, in the past year.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid duly hogged the limelight, while BCCI secretary Jay Shah was awarded for excellence in sports administration.
Rohit, who has been in stunning batting form since 2023 and led India to three ICC tournament finals across formats, losing two and winning one, was named the Men’s International Cricketer of the Year. Dravid, who was on the same journey as Rohit, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Kohli, who became the first batsman to amass over 700 runs in an ODI World Cup, bagged the Men’s ODI Batter of the Year, while speedster Mohammed Shami, who was the leading wicket-taker in the World Cup 2023, won the Men’s ODI Bowler of the Year award.
Tamil Nadu’s spinning all-rounder R. Sai Kishore was named the Domestic Cricketer of the Year.
Jay Shah said,
“As I told you in Rajkot, we are going to host our flag in Barbados, and our captain did that. If we have the blessing of 1.4 billion people, then we can do the same in the Champions Trophy, the World Test Championship final, and the Women’s T20 World Cup.”
A couple of overseas stars were also acknowledged for their blockbuster shows in the shortest format. New Zealand seamer Tim Southee won the Men’s T20I Bowler of the Year award, and England opener Phil Salt received the Men’s T20I Batter of the Year award.
