Former AEW Tag Team Lucha Bros Signed With WWE: WWE has reportedly secured the signatures of Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr., former AEW Tag Champions Lucha Brothers, in one of the biggest signings of 2024 in order to elevate the tag division in the company.
The Lucha Bros made their name across several promotions in the US and Mexico, including the likes of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Major League Wrestling (MLW), before becoming among the first signed talents in the newly launched All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019.
The two brothers were not only among the flagbearers of the tag division in the company’s early days but also two of the most popular talents on the roster. Either as a tag team or as individual competitors, Fenix and Penta were among the top names in AEW for years.

The two were the AEW Tag Team Champions and had iconic matches against the Young Bucks and the Jurassic Express over the belts. The two also won the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Pac as part of the ‘Death Triangle’. Fenix even won the AEW International Championship, defeating Jon Moxley on an episode of Dynamite before losing it to Orange Cassidy 20 days later.
In 2023, the duo started making more-and-more appearances for AEW’s sister promotion Ring of Honor. And now, in 2024, their contract with the Jacksonville-based promotion has ended.

It is now being reported by multiple outlets that the Luck Brothers have now signed a new contract with WWE. Some reports also suggest that the two will skip NXT and will head straight for the main roster.
It is also understood that WWE’s merchandise department has started production on some promotional material for the incoming tag team.
The Triple-H run promotion has been attracting major AEW names ever since The Game took charge as the Chief Content Officer in 2022. It all started with Cody Rhodes, who was one of the founding members of AEW, leaving the company to join WWE in early 2022. Since then, the likes of Jade Cargill, Andrade, and CM Punk have jumped ship back to the Stamford-based promotion.
The Lucha Bros have a ton of “dream matches’ lined up for them in the WWE. With matches against DIY, the Street Profits, and NXT Tag Champs Fraxiom will be a sight to behold.
