Footballer Collapses On Field With Seizures: Chilean footballer Javier Altamirano had a health scare when he collapsed on the pitch due to epileptic seizures during a recent Argentine Premier Division match between his team Estudiantes de La Plata and Boca Juniors.

27 minutes into the match, Altamirano collapsed onto the field and started convulsing. When his teammates realized what was happening, they signaled for the medical staff to check on the player down on the ground.
Within seconds, the scene turned into chaos, with players and support staff entering the pitch. Soon, an ambulance arrived on the pitch and Javier was loaded into it as he was taken to the hospital.

The scare scene had visibly shaken up everyone present on the scene, including the opposition players and the fans.
After the ambulance exited the field, referee Fernando Echenique summoned Estudiantes captain Jose Sosa and Boca captain Edinson Cavani along with the two coaches to inform them that the match had been suspended.
Estudiantes officials claimed following the incident that Altamirano was conscious when he was taken to a medical facility for clinical follow-up and that his condition was stable.
Boca Juniors’ board of directors also sent their best wishes to Javier Altamirano for a speedy recovery.
The match of Group B of the Argentine Primera Division between third-placed Estudiantes and sixth-placed Boca Juniors was tied at 0-0 at the time of the incident. The league will now have to reschedule the match, where the remaining 63 minutes will be played.
