Fans Troll Babar Azam For Recent PSL 2025 Failure: Ace Pakistani batter and former national team captain Babar Azam is now the subject of heavy trolling by cricket fans on social media after he was dismissed after just scoring one run while captaining the Peshawar Zalmi in their most recent game against Islamabad United in PSL 2025.
The 2025 season of the Pakistan Super League is currently underway as six franchises battle it out for one of the most popular domestic T20 leagues in the world. Babar, who is a superstar of Pakistan cricket, is the captain of Peshawar Zalmi.
So far, the Zalmi have played two games this season and have not gotten off to the best start. In their first game against the Quetta Gladiators, Babar’s team conceded 216 runs before getting all out for 136, losing by 80 runs.

Last night was their second game of the season against defending champions Islamabad United. In this match, Peshawar first conceded 243 runs and then got out for 141, losing the match by 102 runs.
In both of these matches, where his team suffered massive losses, Azam himself did not have any good outings. Against Quetta, he was dismissed by Mohammad Amir for a duck and looked severely out of touch. And now, against United, he was dismissed for one by Ben Dwarshuis.
While Babar Azam did look in fine touch in the recent ODI series against New Zealand, where he scored two half-centuries, that series was against a weakened Kiwi side, with most of its big players playing in the IPL.
Azam didn’t only fail two consecutive times, but he did not show any positive signs of a returning form in these two games. So it was very foreseeable that cricket fans on social media would start trolling the former Pakistan Cricket Team captain.

Many people criticised Babar’s ability to handle pressure under stressful chases. One tweet suggested that Azam’s answer when asked to perform in a high-pressure game would be, “Absolutely not.”

Some of his fans were just gutted to see him not perform, wished for things to get better for him, and reminded everyone how good a player he is.
Babar Azam and the Peshawar Zalmi will next be seen in action against last year’s finalists, the Multan Sultans, on Saturday, April 19, at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
