Fans React To The Rock Main Eventing WrestleMania: The backlash against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson challenging Roman Reigns for the latter’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship continues as the fans are now responding to WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi’s tweet regarding the whole situation.
WWE threw a curveball at the fans when on last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes suggested that he will not be “finishing His Story’ and challenging Reigns at WrestleMania 40. He made way for The Rock to face Roman at ‘Mania in a ‘dream match’.
Seeing how Cody Rhodes has been on a year-long journey to win the WWE championship and dethrone the Head of the Table, fans were understandably not thrilled by the idea of the Hollywood Superstar taking Cody’s spot at the Showcase of the Immortals.
WWE Universe on social media have now been protesting The Rock’s inclusion into the WrestleMania main event. WWE’s video on YouTube showing The Great One’s SmackDown return has now become the most disliked video on the company’s YouTube page, amassing over 300 thousand dislikes compared to just 80 thousand likes.
“We Want Cody” has been trending on X (formerly Twitter) for two days now, with nearly 500 thousand posts. While there is a section of the WWE Universe that wants to see The Rock’s main event WrestleMania 40, it is safe to say that they are in the minority.

Several WWE personalities, past or present, have weighed in on the topic on social media. While current WWE Superstars have tweeted in support of Cody Rhodes, former WWE Superstar and father to The Usos, Rikishi, posted a rather cryptic response.
Seemingly talking about his extended family members (The Rok and Roman Reigns) possibly main-eventing WrestleMania 40 and all the backlash surrounding it, Rikishi tweeted, “What’s happening????”
Most people responding to the Hall of Famer had comical replies. These users harkened back to the time Rikishi ran over “Stone Cold” Steve Austin with a car ‘for The Rock’.
While some others showed their support for Socy Rhodes to be in the main event against Roman Reigns instead of The Rock –
WWE will be holding a press conference for WrestleMania 40 this Thursday, February 8, in Las Vegas, where the main event picture for the Grandest Stage of Them All will be set in stone.
