Fans React To Rohit Dropping Hat Trick Catch: Fans on social media have reacted to Rohit Sharma robbing Axar Patel of a hat trick against Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after dropping an absolute sitter on the hat trick ball.
India vs Bangladesh is Match Two in the ongoing CT 2025. This is also the second Group A match after New Zealand thrashed hosts Pakistan yesterday. Despite the Men in Green being the host, this match is being played in the Dubai Internatioanl Stadium in the UAE, because the Men in Blue will not play any games in Pakistan.
On a dry surface in Dubai, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first. And immediately, it seemed like a bad decision, as opener Soumya Sarkar was caught behind for a duck on the very first over of the match by Mohammed Shami.
In the second over, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto fell victim to Harshit Rana when he was caught in the covers. The third wicket, taken again by Shami, fell in the seventh over as Mehidy Hasan Miraz edged the ball and was caught in the slips.

Then came the ninth over, which was the first over on the day bowled by all-rounder Axar Patel. On the second ball of his over, Tanzid Hasan edged the ball and was caught behind by keeper KL Rahul. Then came in veteran batter Musghfiqur Rahim, who was dismissed for a golden duck when he too was caught behind on the very first ball.
On a hat-trick, Axar bowled a great ball. Fresh batman Jaker Ali found the thickest of edges and the ball flew towards captain Rohit Sharma at first slip. What was supposed to be an easy catch was dropped by ROhit, thus robbing Axar Patel of a hat trick.

Since getting dropped on 0, Jaker Ali has rescued the Bangladesh innings. Playing on 40 off 74, he, along with Towhid Hridoy, has taken the team past the 100-run mark.
As for the Indian Cricket Team, they will be looking to win this match by a big margin after New Zealand’s fine display in defeating Pakistan in the opener of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
