Fans React To Ishan Kishan Team India Snub: The Ishan Kishan-BCCI saga keeps rolling down the hill as it has now come out that BCCI wants Ishan Kishan to play Ranji Trophy matches for Jharkhand. A source even accused the wicketkeeper-batter of just focusing on the IPL.
Ishan Kishan was part of the India squad for the South Africa tour. When he was snubbed from the playing 11, with the team using KL Rahul as a wicketkeeper in red-ball cricket for the first time, Kishan returned to India due to ‘travel fatigue’.
Since then, a lot of reports, speculations, and updates have emerged. A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that Ishan Kishan might not be in the plans of the national side for some time. Some in the cricket board were unhappy with him being seen parting in Dubai while away from team India.
Recently, it has been reported that the 25-year-old has been training in Baroda with his Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya, fueling speculations that he is focused purely on IPL.

This situation may have compelled BCCI to bring in a new directive that players should play a minimum number of Ranji matches if they are to be a part of the auction pool.
BCCI has also directed Ishan to play in Jharkhand’s upcoming Ranji match against Rajasthan in Jamshedpur, starting February 16. Jharkhand are currently languishing at the bottom of Group A in the domestic red ball tournament.
An anonymous BCCI senior official told PTI that players like Ishan Kishan do not want to play domestic red-ball cricket, saying –
“The decision-makers in BCCI are well aware that some players don’t want to play any red ball cricket. If they are out of Indian team, they would at best play a few Mushtaq Ali T20 games and then not report for state team duty during red ball season.”

Fans of Ishan Kishan, naturally, are incensed with KIshan’s snub, claiming that the BCCI wants Kishan out of the squad for reasons other than cricket. They have now taken to social media in support of the explosive batter, accusing team coach Rahul Dravid of plotting against him.
A statistic even shows Kishan’s average of 78 in the three innings he has played in the World Test Championship.
Whether he decides to play Ranji Trophy matches for Jharkhand or not, the upcoming months of domestic cricket, which also involves the IPL, will be crucial for not only his future in the national side but also his relationship with the BCCI.
