Fans React As RCB Wins 4th Game Away From Home: In a very interesting trend, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their winning juggernaut away from home by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday in Jaipur. And not just a win; it was a thumping victory by 9 wickets that the tourists recorded to register their fourth win in four games away from home while having suffered two defeats at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Phil Salt, with a blistering half-century, and Virat Kohli, with another typical anchor knock, starred for RCB in their run chase of the 174-run target.
Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Although RR got a 49-run opening stand between Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal, the duo took 41 balls and didn’t really tee off in the powerplay.
As the ball gripped and held in the pitch a bit, even Riyan Parag and the set Jaiswal found it challenging to knock off boundaries easily. Their second-wicket stand yielded 56 runs off 39 balls. The duo was dismissed in succession, and RR found themselves at 126/3 at the 16-over mark.

They got some momentum in the death overs with a stand of 43 (23) between Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer. Surprisingly, Jurel was promoted ahead of Hetmyer. RR finished at 173/4, a total that was par according to the two-paced surface.
RCB needed a solid start in the powerplay to keep themselves ahead of the game in the run chase, as batting would tend to get challenging with the older ball on a pitch slowing down.
As they wanted, RCB got a sensational start from Phil Salt, who hammered 65 runs off 33 balls, walloping five fours and six sixes in his eye-catching innings. Salt’s efforts meant RCB ended the powerplay at 65/0, with Kohli playing the second fiddle perfectly.
After the powerplay, Salt tonked Hasaranga and Kumar Kartikeya for sixes but eventually was dismissed by the latter. He had put RCB in the driver’s seat, from where Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal saw the run chase home.

Both batters were conservative and cautious for the first half of their partnership, as the required rate had already come down courtesy of Salt’s assault. Once set, both Kohli and Padikkal freed their arms to bring victory with 15 balls left in the innings. Kohli remained not out on 62 off 45 and Padikkal on 40 off 28.
With this win, RCB moved to the third spot in the points table, collecting eight points in six games. RCB’s run of away wins is astounding this season—they have beaten former champions CSK, KKR, MI, and RR—and if they can muster wins at home as well, RCB will be on the course of qualifying for the playoffs soon.
RCB fans are elated with this performance. Check out their reactions on Twitter.
