Fans Complain About Seth Rollins TItle Defence: Seth Rollins defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Jinder Mahal on the January 15th episode of Monday Night RAW. While the match was booked with only a week’s notice, the bout gathered steam amongst fans after some social media drama including Mahal and All Elite Wrestling owner Tony Khan.
Despite the perceived hype, especially among Indian WWE fans, Seth did defend the title after kicking out Jinder finisher ‘Khalass’ and won after a Curb Stomp.
While yes, this was a predictable result of a match that was announced only a week ago, several fans were not happy with the manner in which The Architect won the match, calling it formulaic and by the numbers.
Rollins became the first holder of the newly introduced World Heavyweight Championship after winning a title tournament at Night of Champions earlier this year. Ever since then, he has taken on and defeated all-comers. Despite being the babyface in all his title feuds, almost all of his feuds have been against wrestlers that people actually wanted to see win the title.
This growing negativity towards Seth’s title reign has been compounded by how he tends to win his matches, as the story in all his title matches sees him beaten down a lot before finding a way to scrap by with a win.

When Rollins again won against Jinder in a match with similar storytelling, several fans took to social media to complain about his title reign –
Some fans also compared Seth’s title reign to those that are much more maligned, like Roman Reigns’ current unstoppable reign or John Cena in the late 2000s.
Most fans just complained about Triple H’s booking, complaining about how he is seemingly running out of ideas.
Seth Rollins will most likely walk into WrestleMania 40 in April as the champion. While Damien Priest lurks with his Money in the Bank briefcase, fans are clamoring for a big-money title match between Rollins and a recently returned CM Punk.
