Fan Waits 10 Years For Rohit Sharma Autograph And Gets It: Indian Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma obliges a fan’s request who waited for 10 years for the Indian captain’s autograph. Rohit now gears up to lead India into the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Sharma missed the first Australia vs India Test due to the birth of his son’s name. That match, played in Perth’s Optus Stadium, saw India win the toss and bat first. On Day One of the first Test, India batted first and was bowled out for 150. In response, the Aussies faced the wrath of Jasprit Bumrah and fell to 59/7 by the end of the day’s play.
On day two, the Kangaroos fell 46 runs behind the Men in Blue, who then batted for almost two days and put up 487 runs before declaring as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli scored centuries. Then, in the final inning, the Indian bowling unit shined once again and bowled the home side for 238 to win the match by 295 runs.

As the match ended on Day Four, there is a 12-day gap between matches one and two in this series. Soon after the 1st Test ended, Rohit Sharma arrived on Australian shores and joined up with the team. He will now take the captaincy responsibilities from Jasprit Bumrah, who led the team in the 1st Test.
As the captain of the Indian Cricket Team and one of the best and most high-profile batters in world cricket, Rohit is naturally one of the most followed athletes in India. He has a massive and very loyal fandom, as his popularity rivals that of the likes of Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and MS Dhoni.

So it comes as no surprise that he has a lot of fan following in Australia, a country where cricket is very popular and where a lot of people of Indian descent live.
Following a practice session for Team India, Rohit Sharma was signing autographs for fans. In a video of this moment released by the BCCI, a fan can be heard screaming and saying that he has waited 10 years for the Indian skipper’s autograph. The fan said,
“Rohit bhai, please, 10 saal ho gaye yaar. Mumbai ka Raja. (Rohit bhai, please, it has been 10 years. King of Mumbai.)”
As stated, the BCCI posted a video of this moment on their social media and had this as the video’s caption:
“The wait of a decade finally ends. A fan waited for 10 years to get a @ImRo45 autograph and yesterday was his lucky day.”
Rohit Sharma will not lead India in the four remaining Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the skipper failed to fire in the recent practice match between India and Australia’s President’s XI. While India did win the match, Rohit managed to score only three runs in 11 deliveries.
The second India vs Australia match will start on December 6. It will be a Pink-Ball Test match and will be played day and night for five days in the Adelaide Oval.
