Fan Reactions To Yashasvi Jaiswal Scoring 200: It has been the Yashasvi Jaiswal show on the first two days of India’s second Test against England in the ongoing five-match Pataudi series as the Mumbai-based batter scored his maiden double-century in international cricket in Vishakhapatnam’s ACA-VDCA Stadium.
Day 1 of the match saw India lose constant wickets, with no batter apart from Jaiswal even getting to 40. But the 22-year-old steered the Indian innings, ending the day on 179*.
On Day 2, he came out attacking, reaching the 200-run mark with a boundary. He then lost his wicket to James Anderson, finishing his inning with 209 runs in 290 balls.
It was Yashasvi’s inning that helped India reach a respectable total of 396. If he had not fired in the 1st innings, who knows what score India would have landed on? Seeing the second-highest individual score for India was 34 by Shubman Gill, it is unlikely that India would’ve reached the 200-run mark as a team if Jaiswal had not scored a 200 on his own.
