Every ICC Champions Trophy Winner: The first edition of the ICC Champions Trophy was played in 1998. It was initially called the Wills International Cup, and it was called the ICC KnockOut Trophy in its second edition in 2000. From its third edition in 2000, it has been called the ICC Champions Trophy.
It is a short cricket tournament played in the ODI format. In the first edition, 9 teams participated. From the second to the fourth edition, the number of teams varied between 11 and 12. From the fifth edition in 2009, the number of teams in the ICC Champions Trophy has been fixed at 8.
For the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the top 8 teams in the points table of the ICC World Cup 2023 qualified. There have been eight editions of the ICC Champions Trophy so far.

List Of Every ICC Champions Trophy Winner in History From 1998 To 2017:
1998 – South Africa
The inaugural edition of the ICC Champions Trophy was played in 1998 in Bangladesh, where South Africa won the competition. The Proteas beat England in the quarterfinal, Sri Lanka in the semifinal, and West Indies in the final. This is South Africa’s only ICC trophy at senior men’s level. Jacques Kallis was the Man of the Tournament for 164 runs and 8 wickets.
2000 – New Zealand
New Zealand won the ICC Knockout Cup in 2000 in Kenya. They beat Zimbabwe, Pakistan, and India in the three knockout matches to win the title. Chris Cairns was the Player of the Match in the final for his century.
2002 – Shared between India and Sri Lanka
India and Sri Lanka reached the final of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy. However, the final in Colombo was washed out twice. The final was played two times on consecutive days but couldn’t be completed due to rain. As a result, both teams shared the trophy.
2004 – West Indies
West Indies won the ICC Champions Trophy 2004 in England. They remained unbeaten throughout, winning all four games. In the final, they beat the hosts, England, by two wickets. Ian Bradshaw was the Man of the Match in the final, and Ramnaresh Sarwan was the Man of the Tournament.
2006 – Australia
Australia won their first ICC Champions Trophy in 2006 in India. They lost their first match of the tournament to West Indies but then won four games in a row, including beating West Indies in the final in Mumbai. Shane Watson starred in the final with 57* (88) & 2/11.
2009 – Australia
The great Australian side under Ricky Ponting won a second consecutive ICC Champions Trophy title in 2009 in South Africa. They won all their four completed matches in the tournament. Australia beat New Zealand in a one-sided final. Watson slammed a match-winning century in the final, and Ponting was the Man of the Tournament.
2013 – India
India won all their five matches at the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In the final, MS Dhoni’s team beat hosts England on the last ball of a rain-curtailed 20-over-per-side match. Jadeja was the Player of the Final for 33* (25) & 2/24, and Shikhar Dhawan was the Man of the Tournament for scoring 363 runs.
2017 – Pakistan
The 2017 ICC Champions Trophy was also hosted in England. This time, India lost the final to arch-rivals Pakistan. Pakistan had lost to India in the group stage but then went on a winning spree and eventually beat India in the final.
Fakhar Zaman hit a match-winning century in the final, while Hasan Ali was the Man of the Tournament for 13 wickets.
