England Playing 11 For The 3rd Test Vs India: England has announced playing 11 for the 3rd Test of the ongoing five-match series against India. While not common with most teams, the English usually announce their squad for a match a day before, one of the symptoms of Bazball.

Openers
Zak Crawley was the only English batter to have scored 50 in the 2nd Test of the series Not only that, he crossed the 70-run mark in both innings in what was a massive 106-run defeat against India.
Ben Duckett, like most batters across both teams, has got some fine starts throughout the series so far but has failed to convert any of them into big ones.

Middle-Order
Ollie Pope played one of the best innings of the year so far when he scored a magnificent 196 in the second innings of the 1st match. That innings almost single-handedly won England the match
Joe Root is one of the best Test batters in the world but is having a terrible series until this point. His highest score across four innings so far has been 29, with him failing to score in double-digits on two of those occasions.
Ben Stokes is the respected leader and captain of the side who is a major part of England’s aggressive play in the Bazball era. He scored a fighting 70 in the first innings of the 1st Test but has not scored much since.
Jonny Bairstow has not yet fired up in this series. The ginger-haired batter has played a major role in his side’s recent Test success
Wicketkeeper
Ben Foakes is the team’s wicketkeeper and is supposed to be a solid rock in the lower-middle order. Despite not impressing with the bat so far in the series, he has been excellent behind the stumps.

Spinners
Tom Hartley looked like he was not up to the task of a Test series in India after being all over the place in the first innings of the 1st Test, but his massive 7-wicket haul in the second innings put that discussion to rest. He is England’s highest wicket-taker in the series so far with 14 scalps.
Rehan Ahmed is on his second tour to the subcontinent. He toured Pakistan when England played a Test series there in December-January of 2022/23. While he has shown his skill, he has also made several mistakes due to his inexperience. He is one for the future.
Pacers
Mark Wood was part of the playing 11 for the 1st match but took no wickets across both innings. He was dropped for the 2nd Test due to the performance and the fact that the match was to be played on a spinning track. He is now back in the playing 11.
James Anderson is an all-time legend in Test cricket. The active player with the most wickets in the format, Anderson took five wickets in the 2nd Test and played a big part in India’s first innings collapse, when everyone aside from Yashasvi Jaiwal’s 209 failed to even score a 50.
