ENG vs SA Match Highlights And Report-T20 WC: South Africa continued their undefeated run in the T20 World Cup with their second victory in the Super 8 round. With a healthy net run rate of +0.625, South Africa have their one foot in the semi-finals.
Like their other victories in the tournament, this one too came with a proper scrap for every single run and through every single over as they won against England by only 7 runs, with the match being alive till the penultimate ball of the game.
South Africa escaped a scare from Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook’s partnership of 78 (42) while defending 163, which was considered a little less than par in St Lucia.

Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to field first. The Proteas were off to a flier from Quinton de Kock, who raised a second consecutive half-century, this one off only 22 balls. The Proteas posted 63 runs in the powerplay, with de Kock smashing 49 (20) of them.
Moeen Ali dismissed Reeza Hendricks, whose wicket was a blessing in disguise for South Africa, as the right-handed opener scored 19 (25). England capitalized on that and stormed back in the game. They did it through two athletic efforts from Buttler: a one-handed catch of de Kock and a terrific direct-hit run out of Klaasen. Aiden Markram was bowled by Adil Rashid as South Africa went from 86/0 to 113/4.
David Miller and Tristan Stubbs gave South Africa the finishing touches with their partnership of 42 (27) and ending the innings with 163 on the board.

Phil Salt started in his typical attacking fashion with a six on the third ball of the innings, but in the next over was outsmarted by Kagiso Rabada. Bairstow and Buttler couldn’t do much in the powerplay and England finished the sixth over at 41/1.
South Africa got on top of the Three Lions as Bairstow, Buttler, and Moeen Ali all three gave catching practice to the Protea fielders and England slipped to 61/4.
Then came the partnership that turned the momentum of the chase. Livingstone and Brook collected three fours in the next three overs before hammering Rabada for 18 runs in an over. Nortje was smoked for 13 runs but the worst treatment was given to Ottneil Baartman – 21 runs in the 17th over brought the equation to only 25 runs required off 18 balls.
However, Rabada stepped up to dismiss Livingstone and conceded only four runs in the 18th over. Jansen bowled an excellent 19th over, in which he leaked only 7 runs. With 14 needed off six balls, Brook holed out in the deep off Nortje on the first ball of the last over. Nortje closed out the game against Curran and Archer to continue South Africa’s winning streak in the tournament.
Score summary: South Africa 163/6 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock 65, Jofra Archer 3/40); England 156/6 in 20 overs (Harry Brook 53, Keshav Maharaj 2/25). South Africa defeated England by 7 runs.
