Adam Copeland, also known as the Rated “R” Superstar, Edge, is a professional wrestler who was formally signed with the WWE for over 20 years. He was born in Orangeville, Canada, on 30 October 1973. He officially made his WWE debut in 1998 with a brooding character. Between 1999 and 2001, he formed a tag team with his real-life best friend, Christian Cage. This team quickly became famous amongst the WWE universe, and till today they are known as one of the biggest and greatest tag teams of all time in the WWE.
After Edge and Christian split in 2002, the Rated “R” Superstar went solo and slowly transitioned into the main event scene. He made history when he won the first-ever Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. During his early career, he went on to have memorable and legendary feuds against John Cena, The Undertaker, and Randy Orton. However, in 2011, he suffered a neck injury, which required cervical spinal stenosis. This injury and surgery had a high risk of paralysis, which ultimately led him to retire too early in his legendary career.
However, Edge made his shocking return in the WWE as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble 2020. This moment became one of the biggest wrestling moments of this decade. After returning, he had some great matches against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Finn Balor. He wrestled his last WWE match on August 18, 2023, in his home country of Canada. He faced one of his best friends, Sheamus, in his last match in the WWE. After officially parting ways with the WWE, Edge made his debut in AEW as Adam Copeland.
While he was away from the WWE, he started to shift his focus towards acting. His breakout role was in the Haven, where he played a supernatural character named Dwight Hendrickson. He also appeared in CW’s The Flash, where he played the role of a meta-human named Atom Smasher. His most recent acting role was in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, where he played the role of Ares. As of 2025, he is currently filming The Beekeeper 2, where he reportedly is going to play the character of Jason Statham.
