Digvesh Rathi Writing In The Notebook: Digvesh Rathi is teasing the IPL authorities by not shelving his “writing in the notebook” celebration despite being fined twice already.
He did it for the third time this season, though this time instead of “writing” on his hand with an imaginary pen, Rathi scribbled on the ground after taking the wicket of his idol Sunil Narine in the KKR vs LSG encounter.
KKR and LSG clashed in a high-scoring, thrilling match on Tuesday afternoon at the Eden Gardens, where Lucknow managed a win by only four runs after posting 238 on the board.
Nicholas Pooran top-scored in the match with his sensational knock of 87* off 36 balls that included seven fours and eight sixes, while Mitchell Marsh, too, played a similarly blockbuster knock of 81 runs off 48 balls with six fours and five sixes.
Chasing 239, Sunil Narine cracked 30 off 13 balls before Ajinkya Rahane hammered 61 off 35 balls, and Venkatesh Iyer’s 45 off 29 kept KKR on track in the long chase. However, KKR lost 5/23 and fell behind in the game; even Rinku Singh’s 38* off 15 was not enough to get KKR over the line.

25-year-old Digvesh Rathi is making a name for himself in the IPL 2025. Despite the presence of Ravi Bishnoi in the side, Rishabh Pant and LSG management have been playing him, and he’s stood up to the task, taking 7 wickets in 5 matches while maintaining a terrific economy of 7.75.
His latest victim was his idol, Narine. Rathi tossed up a leg break outside the off-stump. Narine had a slash at it and hit it straight to long-on.
After taking the wicket, Rathi brought out his “writing in the notebook” celebration, for which he’s already been fined twice in two games and has copped three demerit points so far.
This time, however, instead of writing in his hand, as he did on the previous two occasions, Rathi scribbled on the turf.

After LSG’s previous match, Digvesh Rathi explained how he took up bowling after watching Narine, “I am really enjoying it. My bowling is such that I like to take wickets. I saw Sunil Narine bowl, and since then I have loved bowling. I want to make my mindset more attacking like Sunil Narine. Like he handles pressure for the team and still remains calm. I want to be the same.”
With this win, LSG have six points in five games. Their next match is on Saturday at home against Gujarat Titans.
