Devon Conway Might Return To CSK During Playoffs: New Zealand star batter Devon Conway might be fit to take the cricket field ahead of the IPL 2024 playoffs.
Conway has been a crucial piece of Chennai Super Kings’ recent success. He was the team’s highest run scorer in 2023 and played a massive role in the side winning the championship that season.
Right before the IPL, Conway injured his thumb while fielding in a T20I against Australia. That injury turned out to be a fracture, making him miss the entire season.

But reports have now emerged that the Kiwi has made significant progress in his recovery and might just be fit enough to play right around the time the IPL playoffs start.
Fellow New Zealander Rachin Ravindra has been opening the CSK batting alongside captain Ruturaj Gaikwad in place of Conway. While he has not made any big scores so far, the 24-year-old has impressed with his attacking shot playing. He has also chipped in with the ball in multiple matches.

The playoffs of IPL 2024 will kick off on May 21, when the first and second-placed teams in the league will face off in Qualifier 1. The final will take place on May 26.
CSK will be looking to make it to the playoffs once more. The most prolific team in IPL history is currently fourth on the table with three wins in five matches. They started the tournament off well with two wins but then lost two on the trot. They most recently had a comfortable win over Kolkata Knight Riders.
For CSK to make it to the playoffs, Rachin Ravindra will have to start firing sooner or later. While Gaikwad plays the role of an anchor in the opening, Ravindra should provide attacking support from the other end. Ruturaj and Devon Conway’s impeccable opening partnerships were crucial to CSK’s title win in 2023.
Chennai Super Kings will take on arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in their next match on Sunday, April 14 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
