Delhi Capitals record in Jaipur: On Thursday, March 28, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals will host Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for match number 9 of the IPL 2024. The two teams are sitting on opposite ends of the points table after their respective first matches of the season.
The Royals are second in the points table after their victory by 20 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants in a day game in Jaipur. The RR captain, Sanju Samson, led from the front with the bat by smacking 82 runs in 52 balls, before Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma’s brilliant new-ball and old-ball bowling helped RR defend 193 against the anchor KL Rahul and a rampant Nicholas Pooran.
The Capitals are third-to-last in the points table right now, courtesy of a last-over loss against the Punjab Kings in Chandigarh. DC posted 174 on the board, powered by Abishek Porel’s 32*(10) in the end. For PBKS, Sam Curran, batting at number 4, was sublime in his 63 (47) while Liam Livingstone blasted 38* (21) to take Punjab over the line with four balls to spare.
Delhi Capitals Record in Jaipur:
The Delhi Capitals (previously Daredevils) have played six IPL matches in Jaipur from 2008 to 2019. Delhi won two of them and lost four.
The last time Delhi and Rajasthan clashed in Jaipur was in 2019. Rishabh Pant played a whirlwind knock of 78* (36), helping Delhi chase down the target of 192 runs in 19.2 overs. Pant’s fireworks trumped Ajinkya Rahane’s century in that match.
RR vs DC Head To Head Stats:
Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals have met in 27 IPL matches so far, out of which Delhi won 13 and Rajasthan won 14. So it’s an almost evenly contested head-to-head record between RR and DC.
Talking about this match, Delhi have been given a major boost as South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje is available now after missing the first match due to the birth of his child. He will replace either Shai Hope or Tristan Stubbs.
Although Rajasthan are expected to remain unchanged, they are fretting over Riyan Parag, who reportedly caught the flu after the first match.
