De Light Is Not an Upgrade to Harry Maguire: Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claimed that their new signing Matthijs de Ligt is not an upgrade to Harry Maguire. Scholes was speaking to the SuperSport.
Manchester United have been continuing their abysmal form in the English Premier League, winning only 2 games from the possible 6. The Reds have now fallen to the 13th spot on the table with just 7 points. Their last game was as embarrassing as it has been for them this season, losing to Tottenham Hotspur for three goals to nil.
As per De Light Is Not an Upgrade to Harry Maguire: Manchester United, who have spent millions in the transfer market landing players, have failed to execute them properly, thanks to the continuous tactical failures of the coach and the lack of mentality of the players.
One of their important signings was De Ligt from Bayern Munich, expecting to strengthen their problems in the defense. But things haven’t worked in favour of Red Devils so far as De Light is yet to bring out his best form.

Scholes openly said that bringing in De Light hasn’t made much difference at Manchester United’s defense.
Speaking to SuperSport (via The Standard), the former England midfielder said: “When you bring players in, you expect them to be a lot better than who you’ve already got. I don’t see players coming in who are a big difference. De Ligt has come in for Maguire, let’s say, but there’s no big difference there.”
When he was asked if De Light is an upgrade to Maguire, Scholes didn’t even blink to say: “No, absolutely not.”
Man United will travel to Porto for the Europa League match, which will happen on Friday, October 4 at the Estádio do Dragão.
