Delhi Capitals made two changes to their team, with Priyam Garg and Mukesh Kumar coming in for Sarfaraz Khan and Aman Khan. The team also announced Sarfaraz Khan, Lalit Yadav, Abishek Porel, Khaleel Ahmed, and Pravin Dubey as their substitutes.
Abhishek Sharma played exceptionally well in the Powerplay, hitting nine fours and setting the tone by cracking two fours in the first over from Ishant Sharma. Mayank Agarwal had a close call when he was given out LBW in the second over by Anrich Nortje, but he reviewed it and the ball tracking showed that the impact was outside off. Unfortunately, he was caught behind off Ishant Sharma soon after. Although SRH lost Rahul Tripathi during the Powerplay, Abhishek continued to dominate and hit four fours off Ishant Sharma in the sixth over, taking SRH to 62/2 by the end of the Powerplay.
In his first over, Kuldeep Yadav had a chance to take a wicket, but unfortunately, Anrich Nortje dropped a catch at long off, giving Markram a second chance. However, Abhishek Sharma quickly made up for it by hitting a six over deep mid-wicket on the very next ball, bringing up his fifty in style.
After a strong start by SRH, DC managed to pull things back in the next two overs, resulting in a couple of wickets.
