Darius Visser Hits 39 Runs in an Over: How many runs can you score in an over? You would say 36. And we have all seen an over giving 36 runs into the scoreboard. But Samoa batter Darius Visser doesn’t agree with that. And he proved us wrong as well by hitting a whopping 39 runs in an over in the T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier in Apia.
His magisterial inning came against Vanuatu and the batter ended his innings with a terrific 62-ball 132.
Darius Visser Hits 39 Runs in an Over: Highlights
It was the 15th over of the match and the unfortunate bowler was Nalin Nipiko. Visser sent the first three deliveries above the boundaries. The fourth one was a no-ball from Nipiko. Visser utilized the free hit in the next delivery to its fullest by hitting another six.
Visser hit the next ball low, and it went straight and hit the non-striker’s end-dot ball. Maybe due to the pressure built by consuming a gigantic amount of runs already, Nipiko overstepped during the next delivery and the ball went high that Visser pulled over the fine leg to score another 6.
The final delivery was a full toss outside the off stump. Visser flicked the ball over deep square leg for another six and the score at the end of the over was 39 runs.
Visser hit 14 sixes in his fire-cracker innings and it’s the 5th highest in T20 internationals.
